The University of Vermont (UVM) has many traditions, and a strong Panhellenic Council is one of them. UVM Panhellenic Council is one of the oldest in the world, with our first Panhellenic organization being founded in 1881.  Currently UVM has six Panhellenic organizations, which all look forward to meeting you at formal sorority recruitment.

Before you start your application process please know that there is a non-refundable fee of $50.00.   In addition, please have your UVM student ID number ready to be submitted with your application.   We hope that you are looking forward to attending sorority formal recruitment and getting to meet all six of our chapters.

UVM Panhellenic recruitment is open to all full time enrolled individuals that identify as women regardless of race, religion, color, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

Special Note:

Unfortunately, due to a scheduling error sorority formal recruitment overlaps Rosh Hashanah.  The Holiday, Rosh Hashanah begins Wednesday the 20th and ends the evening of the 22nd.  Sorority Formal Recruitment starts on Thursday, the 21st and all women that would like to attend services on Thursday are excused from formal recruitment that night.

Additionally, Friday, we will be working with a kosher cater and will have special guests from Hillel’s staff as part of our opening and to offer space for women who would like to participate in Shabbat, come together in community, light candles and share blessings.

Please know this was not an intentional overlap and we are trying to make the best accommodations possible for those women wanting to attend and celebrate the Holiday.
